Yvonne Preston
Born and raised in Melbourne. Educated, multiplied and living in the northern rivers nsw.
Impressionable artist and a qualified environmentalist and an ethical liver of life. I paint, create and sculpt.
After spending my early 20's in Melbourne, studying, working and drawing at the Gasworks life drawing group, I moved to Lismore NSW to study a combination of Science and Art at Southern Cross Uni, I began painting and exhibiting 1995. Living the life of a nomad, volunteering for Greening Australia and numerous landcare groups across Australia, my landscapes and botanical illustrations were used for training manuals and newsletters. Its the local gallery that has always been my first point of contact for every town I have lived in. Finally I have anchored for a while with my family in the Mountains surrounded by the subtropical wilderness to nurture, farm and paint.

SCRIBBLING BAREFOOT
The name 'Scribbling Barefoot' came about when I had my first solo exhibition on the Sunshine Coast not long after we returned from sailing around the world. I draw from life. I have always drawn nudes and still lifes but in recent years I have enjoyed capturing the scenes I observed from our boat and on land. These include land/sea scapes, animals, birds, buildings, sculptures and people.
Recently I have been creating pique assiette mosaics using recycled materials such as china, old jewellery, glass, mirrors and interesting collectibles. I have a studio in the bush high on a mountain near Lismore in which to work. Last year I treated myself to a painting tour in Morocco with Wendy Sharpe where I used gouache for the first time. It's a medium that I am enjoying and used on a recent sailing trip to Lord Howe Island.
MY BACKGROUND
I studied Visual Communications at the Canberra School of Art many years ago. This included painting, drawing and developing/ printing my own photography. Travel beckoned with the love of my life so I did not finish my Art degree. However after having children I returned to university to study Early Childhood Education. ( Dip Teach EC., Bach Ed)
I enjoyed the autonomy of being a Kindergarten Director for 2 decades encouraging children to be creative thinkers eventually following the Reggio Emilia philosophy. I am still an advocate for children to freely express themselves through the Arts. I was also employed by the University of the Sunshine Coast as a casual tutor in Education.
Throughout my teaching career and bringing up a family I continued to draw and paint whenever I could. I have co-ordinated Life Drawing groups and continue to do this now. Since moving to Northern New South Wales in 2015, I have dedicated myself to art full time.

Janette Faircloth
A well known local resident and artist, Janette has exhibited locally and in Japan. Janette works with fine pen work and traditional lithographs. She has illustrated and written her own non fiction book. Janette also works with mosaic, often on a large scale.
Clare Ennew -
Clare’s love of nature and her intrigue at the mysteries of the ‘Cycle of Life’ can be seen in her detailed drawings. She uses black ink pen, water colour and water colour pencils.
She is influenced by the Circle and how its used in all art forms - across time, religion and culture - as a symbol of our connection to nature, each other and the planet. The Circle is also a vehicle to deep contemplation. This is particular evidenced in her detailed Mandala drawings - which havetheir root in Buddhism: here the detail draws you in to look deeper.
Her playfulness in life can be seen in her whimsical and fanciful illustrations, which take you back to child-like place of wonder and innocence.
“I create with wonder, joy and often deep contemplation and it is my hope that my work gives a little of this to others.” Clare Ennew
